Is Science Fiction as Thrilling As It Used To Be? - Saturday, 11-11-2017 - 10:00 am to 11:00 am - Grand Ballroom H
Gary Wolfe, in the May Locus, wrote that after perusing the year's best anthologies, doesn't find as many stories as earth shaking as he did 20 odd years ago. All the work is excellently written, but just not as exciting. Is there any truth in his observation? Are we stuck in a rut? Or are we heading out in new directions in unprecedented ways, though perhaps not in a fashion recognizable by older or more traditional readers of science fiction?
